- Joan of Arc- Joan of France- she lived in France in 1429- she was valiant and determined
Memorable Moments
- William the Conqueror- William raised an army - He became the king of England on Christmas day 1066 - “I have persecuted its native inhabitants beyond all reason. Whether gentle or simple, I have cruelly oppressed them; many I unjustly inherited; Innumerable multitudes, especially in the county of York, perished through me by famine or the sword." - He was knighted at the age of 15
- King John- made three enemies in France, Rome, and nobles- was forced to sign the Magana Carta- "To gild refined gold, to paint the lily,
To throw a perfume on the violet,
To smooth the ice, or add another hue
Unto the rainbow, or with taper-light
To seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish,
Is wasteful and ridiculous excess."- son of Henry II - Joan of Arc- Joan inspired the battered troops- led the French to many victories- " One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it.
