Student Highlights
Student Council Recognition
This year, student council worked extremely hard to bring spirit and service to the halls of IHS. We were dedicated to having an unforgettable year. We planned Homecoming Week and Dance, four pep rallies, three spirit weeks, fun Fridays, themes for games, spirit buses, blood drives, and holiday cheer for teachers. On March 23rd and 24th, IHS Student Council members were invited to attend the SCC The Exchange Conference. The Exchange is an annual meeting where 8 student council groups from varying parts of the state come together to exchange ideas and experiences. Our students presented in areas of community service, school service, leadership, recognition and spirit. After two days of sessions, IHS student council walked away with two awards. Our first award was for having the best school spirit. We received the S.C.C. individual School Spirit Award. We were highlighted for our Fun Fridays, pep rallies and spirit weeks. Also, our very own student body President, Kaliyah Hicks received the James F Byrnes Society of Student Leaders Award. The Student Council represented IHS well. Way to go Yellow Jackets!
