A Message from the Principal
March 1, 2021
Dear EBE Families,
On the February 22nd the WCASD School Board approved a plan to Phase our students back in to school five days a week. This plan to reopen at five days will rely on the information and guidance provided by the Chester County Health Department. This plan will also still give families the option to stay hybrid or cyber. Important components of this plan include the following:
- The guidance states that physical distancing of 6 feet but no less than 3 feet between students is recommended.
- County transmissions rates must be below 100 per 100,000 for three weeks before schools should consider less than six feet. (Rates were at 103 last week and may fall below 100 this week.)
- County PCR rates must be below 10% (currently at 5.68%)
- A distance of 6 feet between staff and students is still recommended, even if student distancing is reduced.
To effectively implement this plan the district will also need an accurate count of how many families will choose cyber, hybrid, or come back to school for five days. As part of our effort to gather this information, each principal has sent out a survey (Learning Platform Selection Survey) asking families to pledge to commit to one of the three options. Please complete this survey if you have not already completed it. This information will be crucial to our administration properly planning for every child’s education.

WCASD Counseling and Mental Health Professionals Service Guide
We recognize that our students at home may feel isolated. Our district has a Counseling and Mental Health Professionals Service Guide to provide supports and resources if your child is having a difficult time through all of this. This guide provides Counselor and Mental Health Professionals' contact information, services, important forms, and additional resources for parents of students Kindergarten through 12th grade.
