Scratch Day
On Saturday, December 7, 2019, Scratch Day will be offered to FBISD students. The purpose of this FREE event is to help young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively. There will be workshops for all levels of users that allow for the creation of interactive stories, games, animations, videos and video editing.

A note from our nurse...
Parents please remember the District policy regarding students with fever states that students must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medicine before returning back to school after an illness. Also, students at school with a temperature of 100.0 degrees or above will be sent home from school and may not return for 24 hours. This policy is to prevent the spread of illness in school.
Finally, students are not allowed to transport any kind of medicine to and from school in their backpack. The medicine must be brought to the Nurse by the parent and a form signed.
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our Cubs safe and healthy!Character Trait of the Month - Joy
Safety
FYI - There will be construction on Old South from now until November 27th. Please plan accordingly for arrival BY 8:10 a.m.
Parking: Please use the visitor parking lot and walk your child into the front office. The teacher parking lot is not the area to do this as it is unsafe to cross through the car rider line and teachers need to be able to park and get into the building.
Weather Dismissal: We monitor the weather closely and decide at the end of the day if it's safe for our students to exit. We will make last minute weather calls, if needed. You'll be notified via call-out.
Please remember to send an email and request an absence be excused! You don’t want an invitation from the Truancy Diversion Program!
When is an absence excused?
- FBISD extracurricular activities
- Illness and medical appointments
- Required court appearances
- Religious holy days
- Activities related to obtaining United States citizenship

Blackboard Updates
Please use the job aide - attachment below - to update contacts in Blackboard for delivery (the emails are going to the primary email address listed in Skyward). A few of you have had concerns with receiving information. Last year, we used School Messenger which sent to all contacts in Skyward. Now, we have Blackboard which allows you to go in and choose your contacts. If you have never logged into Blackboard before, you will use your Skyward Family Access Login and click forgot password and it will send a temporary password to them in their email. I hope this helps!
