Open House Wednesday, September 1

We are happy to announce in-person Open House is back!

We are requesting that each student come with one parent to the open house to allow space in the classrooms and assist us in with distancing. While masks are not required in the school buildings until September 8, please know that all staff will be wearing masks and we encourage you to also wear a mask as this will be the requirement for students when they return to school.

In order to provide all students an opportunity to talk with their new teacher and drop off their supplies, we ask that you please come at your assigned time listed below.

Last Names A-L: 4:30-5:15

Last Names M-Z: 5:15-6:00

Open House is a great time to connect with others in your community and to get excited for the school year. We are requesting that you use our outdoor spaces to visit with other families to allow for clear hallways and classrooms.

Who is my Teacher?

Your classroom teacher will be visible in ParentVue after 4:00PM on Friday, August 27.

These classroom placements are final. If you had previously viewed a teacher assignment in another location such as Seesaw, Talking Points, or Clever, please disregard it as the ParentVue information is the final and accurate placement.

All parents should have received an email with ParentVue information. Your ParentVue account is the same as last year and will work for all of your students in the district. If you have a question about how to access ParentVue please call the front office at 763-494-4549. You may use the link below to access ParentVue from this communication.

What bus do I ride?

Bus information (Bus number, bus stop location, pick-up and drop-off times) will be emailed to families from the District Transportation Department on Thursday, August 26 and postcards will be mailed on Friday, August 27. Transportation information will also be available in ParentVUE on August 26.

Rush Creek will not have access to transportation information before August 26. Please wait for the Transportation Department communication.

What to expect the first day of school.

What should I bring?

  • Wear your mask on the bus and as you enter the school building
  • Labeled water bottle- water fountains will be turned on, but having a water bottle allows students access to hydrate all day long
  • Any supplies you didn't drop-off at Open House that the teacher has requested be brought on the first day
  • Dress in layers to be outside

Arrival/Dismissal:

Buses will be arriving/dismissing in the front of the school and parent drop-off/pick-up will be in the back of the school again this year beginning at 9:15 AM. Walkers may begin arriving at the front door or grade level doors in the back of the building at 9:15 AM. All students will be dismissed this year at the 4:00 PM bell. Please look for more information next week regarding the procedures and expectations for arrival and dismissal.

Classrooms:

Every effort will be made to space students as far apart as possible in the classroom. Sanitizing of surfaces will still occur and all students will have access to hand sanitizer and have opportunities to wash their hands during the day.

Breakfast:

Breakfast is optional and free for all students. All students choosing to eat breakfast will go directly to the cafeteria when arriving at school. Students will not stop at their classroom or their lockers to ensure they have time to eat. Students will sit at grade level tables for breakfast.

Lunch/Recess:

Lunch is once again free this year. All students will eat in the lunchroom and will be assigned to tables by class. Students may bring their own lunch if they do not wish to have school served lunch. All students participate in 30 minutes of recess daily. Please dress for the weather.

Although lunch and breakfast are free this year, we encourage families to complete the Application for Educational Benefits. This not only allows families to receive nutrition benefits, but its helps our school qualify for educational funds and discounts!

We are excited for a new year!

Please continue to watch your email for more updates.
