Making Content Meaningful with Concept Mapping
Concept or mind mapping is a visual way to organize thoughts to make connections between ideas. This instructional strategy allows students to connect personal meaning to concepts by graphically organizing their thinking and has the potential effect size of .64 (Hattie, 2015). In this session, participants will learn the difference between concept mapping and graphic organizers, how to model it for students, how to get started, and how to use technology tools that support the strategy.
