Nominations for Gifted and Talented Testing

Nominations are now open for the Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until February, nominations are open at this time. Nominations can be made by parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child, because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in nominating your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Nominations will be accepted through December 18. If your child has already qualified for Gifted and Talented services in some content areas but not all, you must nominate them again if you would like for them to try to qualify in additional areas. Students must take the full battery of tests as specific subject areas cannot be isolated for testing purposes.

You may request a nomination form from the Assistant Principal, Candace Mathis ( You may also find the form, as well as other information on the program here .

Skate Week Thank You

A BIG thank you all of our parent volunteers. You helped make skating a success for our third and fourth graders. Also, thank you to our amazing PTO for making Skate Week possible at Galatas!
