UIL Academic Competition Tryouts
Wylie ISD’s 2018-2019 UIL competition will be held on Thursday, February 7, at Davis Intermediate for all events except for Ready Writing. Ready Writing will be held at the student’s intermediate campus on the morning of Wednesday, February 6. A student on the Ready Writing team is allowed to be on a second team and compete in the event on Thursday.
Davis UIL tryouts will be after school until about 4:15 starting September 25 and ending October 4. Students may try out for more than one team. Students will be notified if they made a team the week of October 15. Practices will begin the week of October 24.
WYLIE ISD PRE-CHECK ID
We want parents to continue to join their students for special school programs and celebrations. To help manage the large numbers of parents who attend elementary and intermediate school events during the day, Wylie ISD has implemented a TSA-style pre-screen system. Our goal is to reduce lines and wait times on these days. Wylie ISD Pre-Check ID cards are available for parents of students at all grade levels. Because most of our visits occur at the elementary and intermediate level, we have placed badge machines at all elementary campuses. Parents who wish to take part will:
- complete the on-line volunteer background check form prior to the first event you plan to attend
- be notified via email when the check has been completed
- visit the campus prior to the first event to have an ID badge made
- Badges will include a photo, so smile!
- They will be good for the full school year at all Wylie ISD campuses.
- This is NOT an “all access” pass.
- Misuse of the pass may result in it being revoked. You will still have access to the school, but will have to use Raptor each time.
For parents with a Wylie ISD Pre-Check ID:
- Elementary/intermediate school celebration/awards ceremony days.
- Please show your card to the Wylie ISD staff member at the front door.
- At this time, you will be allowed to enter the school without checking in. Any guests with you will be required to use the Raptor system to enter.
- Please remain in the assembly area. It is not an “all access pass.”
- Elementary/intermediate school normal days
- You will still use the buzzer/camera and show your Wylie ISD Pre-Check ID.
- Please do not allow other visitors to enter with you.
- Please show your card to the Wylie ISD staff member in the front office.
- Please use the Raptor system to check in.
- You will not need a visitor sticker, just your Wylie ISD Pre-Check ID.
- Enjoy your visit and please remember a Wylie ISD Pre-Check ID is not an “all access pass.”

Box Tops Contest: Each month of the school year, PTA is hosting a box top contest! We will pick up box tops the last Friday of the month and announce the winner the following week! Winning Universities will receive fun awards all year!! Our first box top contest ends Friday, Sept 28th so start clipping and bagging!
