James Russell Lowell Middle School
Hello my name is Coach Castano, MSP Teacher at Lowell MS, and welcome to the Middle School Partner’s Newsletter Featuring – Lowell Middle School. In March 2019 I was able to travel to Edgenuity Headquarters in Phoenix Arizona and I brought back with me an idea that would allow the kids to make their own “Edgenuity” type videos. They really wanted to make their own videos teaching lessons and below are three videos from Lowell featuring our MSP students. Please enjoy and share with other students if they need some extra help in Math.

Can We Graffiti the School with Math?
With Spring here and beautiful weather coming to South Texas, the Bridge to Promotion students wanted to share what they’ve learned in Math with the world by doing “Math Art” on the sidewalks outside with chalk. Here are some pictures of the kids doing Math outside.
MSP & UTHSCSA
Thank you to Ms. Emadi, soon to be Dr. Emadi, from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio for teaching the “Big Decisions” course to our Traditional Partners Students. This supplemental course is an added component to our Health curriculum and the students wouldn’t get credit without it. Thank you for making the course run smoothly and teaching the kids what they need to know.
Remember the Alamo!
MSP took a trip to the IMAX to see, “Alamo: The Price of Freedom.” We also went to the Alamo to get a closer look after we saw it on the big screen. Some students were able to see the Alamo in person for the first time in their lives.
Fishers of Men - A MSP Experience Like No Other
This experience is available through your MSP Teacher. Let them know that you would like to go fishing and you could be invited to a trip. All levels welcome: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
The next scheduled trip is for May 11th.
CIS Low Ropes Course
Our Bridge to Promotion students were able to visit the Communities in School’s low ropes course out by Lackland Air Force Base to test their will and skill in challenging team building activities. They had a great time and even broke some of the course records.
