Attendance Matters at The Ranch
Did You Know?
• Starting in kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
• Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it harder to learn to read.
• Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks.
• Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
• Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work.

Parking Lot Reminders~
New Dismissal Routine~Effective 1/7/2020
Students utilizing the Back Gate and BASES will be sent promptly to those areas while all other students will walk with their teachers to the lunch tables to be released. Students who pick up siblings will meet in the lunch area (please discuss the pick-up routine with them).
If you need to meet with the classroom teacher, please schedule the meeting with the teacher in advance as they may not be available to meet without prior notice due to other commitments.
Thank you~
Front Loop~Pick Up Routine
For any students being picked up via car at the front loop or waiting for a parent at the cross-walk (near front loop)---ALL students will need to wait at the YELLOW LINE and not the grass area, near trees or bushes. Students are expected to watch for their car so they can promptly load. This allows the pick-up moving lane to move quickly and safely and minimize the wait time in the parking lot.
Students who are walking home are reminded to promptly make their way home and not hang out in front of the school with peers.
Please know that students are not to use cell phones or eat snacks/food during this time. If a change in the pick-up routine occurs please contact the front office and your student will be notified (even during/after dismissal) as students are not allowed to have cell phones out at school (before, during, after).
