YES, we will be having HALLOWEEN this year. Friday, October 29th, is the day that staff and students will be dressing up and having a class party.

School Council, will be providing every child with a "Treat Bag"!

So please DO NOT send any extra food for the Halloween Party.

In order for this to go we have some very strict guidelines.

Whole School COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: Please be cognizant of the costume your child wears to school to ensure handwashing and sanitizing use of the washroom without assistance can still easily occur and that non-medical face masks can still be worn as needed throughout the day. We ask that costume accessories (i.e., shields, loose parts, full masks) NOT be sent to school to limit the number of items that will be touched and then sent back home at the end of the day.

This year again is not a regular year, please keep your child's costume simple. Especially for the younger students. Students will have to be able to use the washroom with their costumes on. SIMPLE< SIMPLE< SIMPLE is best.

Students are to come to school dressed in costume, they will wear them for the day.

We will NOT have a school-wide Halloween Parade this year.

First Book Canada, has donated books to Madonna Students for the last 2 years. We have had some great books to hand out to your children.

The selection this year did not have the variety that it usually had, as they sent a case of books to the school. We were very thankful to have received the books we did. Your children were so happy to get them as well.

Are you wishing to Baptize your school-age child?

Does your child want to receive First Communion with their classmates?

It is never too late!

For the Baptism of infants or very young children, parents make the Baptismal promises on their behalf. OLPH offers our monthly Baptism Preparation Class, required for all parents (and recommended for prospective Godparents also.) For a child age 7 (considered the age of reason) or older, catechesis and preparation of their own is necessary before receiving any of the sacraments, including Baptism.

We are offering a special Baptism Preparation Class for children Age 7-10, so they can be welcomed in Baptism, then join the class to celebrate First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in the new year 2022 with their peers.
