NESHAMINY NEWS-REGISTRATION
If you are planning to register your child for the 2018-19 school year for grades K-4, please follow the link for registration information found on the Neshaminy School District website: https://www.neshaminy.org/Page/35554
For kindergarten, a child must turn five years old on or before September 1, 2018. Early registration allows us to be more accurate in determining the number of class sections as we plan for the 2018-19 school year. All registrations are by appointment only through Central Registration at the Pupil Services office located at Maple Point Middle School.
Neshaminy School District Receives Pre-K Expansion Grant!
Dear Neshaminy community,
Neshaminy School District is excited to announce the expansion of the Pre-K Counts (PKC) program in the district for the 2018-2019 school year with the recent approval of our grant application to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – an award totaling $1.02 million. This is more than double the amount from last year! This grant will allow us to add more seats, for a total of 120 in the district, at no cost to Neshaminy School District.
Pre-K Counts offers a free, quality preschool program to eligible families. Income guidelines (based on 2017 Federal tax returns) are generous - for example, a family of four can earn up to $75,300 annually to qualify. This gives working families who might not qualify for other programs, but who still struggle to meet the financial obligations of affording preschool education, a valuable opportunity.
Classes are taught by highly-qualified teachers and support staff. The PKC curriculum at Neshaminy is designed to integrate seamlessly with the elementary program as students progress to kindergarten and beyond.
If you have a child who will be age 3 or 4 by September 1, 2018, and think you might qualify, we urge you to read the PDF flyer linked below, visit the Neshaminy PKC website below and complete an application by Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Currently the program has open seats at Lower Southampton Early Learning Center (the former Lower Southampton Elementary School) and Joseph Ferderbar Elementary School in Feasterville. Classes meet five days a week, and families are responsible for their own transportation to and from school each day.
If you know of another family that might be interested in PKC at Neshaminy, we ask you to forward this information and urge them to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. If you have additional questions about Pre-K Counts at Neshaminy, please email Dr. Amy Orlando at aorlando@neshaminy.org.
