Many Hands, One Mason!

April 22, 2019

Dear Mason Families,

Dear Mason Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their three day weekend! The weather today was absolutely amazing and we can only hope that every day moving forward is like today. This week is our last full week of April and we still have so much learning to do. M-Step/NWEA testing is in full swing and we also have MIx It Up Day this Wednesday (4.24)! We are still in need of volunteers for Mix It Up Day so if you are available from 11:30-12:30 pm this Wednesday, please sign up below; we need all the help we can get! It will be a wonderful experience for our students as they will get an opportunity to practice their conversation skills and make new friends!

Dr. Niehaus is scheduled to attend our monthly PTO meeting this Tuesday (4.23) to discuss the district's reconfiguration plans and to answer any questions we may have about the process. As always, let's come out to support our wonderful PTO and show Dr. Niehaus our support during these times of uncertainty. As always, if you have any questions about anything at all, my door is always open.

Thanks for your support,

Roy Bishop, Jr.

Don't miss out on this great volunteer opportunity on Wednesday, April 24th! Join us as we mix up our 3rd through 5th graders at lunch. Students will be assigned a new seat with other Mason students, and given questions to prompt conversation with a new friend!

We need volunteers to make this a successful event. Please click on the Sign Up Genius to volunteer an hour of your time.

A Note from Mason's PTO:

Teacher Appreciation at Mason will be taking place April 29th-May 3rd! We're so excited to celebrate our teachers and express to them how much they mean to us. Each day, your child will have a special way to show their love and appreciation. A handout with all of the details will be coming home with your child on Monday, April 22nd. In addition, we would love to stock the teacher lounge with snacks and beverages to carry them through to the end of the school year. Please check out the sign up genius link below to see if there's something you're able to donate.

Thank you in advance!

Know a Kindergarten or Young Five student starting school next fall?

Do you know a Kindergarten or Young Five student who will be starting school next fall?

Word of mouth remains the most powerful marketing tool. Help us encourage community members with little ones to explore our neighborhood schools.

It is critical that families establish or verify residency soon if they have a student entering GPPSS next fall, particularly for kindergarten (by May 1) and Young Fives (by April 18). Click here to see the pre-enrollment process (step one) and the residency documents (step two) required by board policy.

This Frequently Asked Questions document was created in response to inquiries from families this year.

Call 313-432-3083 if you have questions or need an appointment outside the enrollment office hours, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday.
