PES Principal Message
April 27, 2023
It has been the BEST kind of busy at Puster this week!
If you didn't get a chance to attend Miss Christiansen's tie dye event, you're going to want to sign up next year! It was well organized, FUN, and benefits our art program.
We had an AMAZING turnout for our Kinder Sneak Peek. We were so engaged and busy we didn't get one photo of all of our newest leopards. However, we did get their signatures before they left. We can't wait to have them on campus next year!
Grayson and Gavin Abshire led a large group of adults in the pledges at Monday night's board meeting. Great job boys!
Our first graders had an awesome time on their field trip to Sci Tech today. Thank you to our teachers and parent volunteers who kept everyone safe and organized. All had a great day of learning and fun!
Next week is teacher appreciation week. Our PTO has put together some fun ways for your children to share their appreciation each day next week (see below). Additionally, they are spoiling our team with massages, food, sonic drinks, raffle prizes and more! THANK YOU Puster PTO and Puster families! Our Puster teachers are a special group - thank you for sharing your love with them!
This weekend our annual STEM Fest will be hosted at Lovejoy High School. There are so many activities for the kids (and adults) to engage in. We hope to catch you there! Have a wonderful weekend!
Puster Proud,
Holly

Puster Families,
If you haven't already, please complete our Intent to Return to Lovejoy ISD form. This information will help plan for a successful school year and prepare for adequate staffing. The form can be found here.
We are looking for responses from all Lovejoy ISD families.
Thank you for your help and support. It’s great to be a Leopard!
Attendance Updates
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:
Heart of the Teacher and Heart of Support

Paige pours her heart into her students and the art studio. She helps each individual student to see themselves as a true artist. She is creative in her lesson design and delivery. Paige is incredibly reliable and an awesome teammate.
DeAmber Perkins, Paraprofessional
DeAmber is a difference - maker. She is quite and unassuming, but makes a huge difference in the lives of the students she works with. She is humble in her work. She is highly thought of by our faculty and parents and we are so grateful she is on our team.

Coming up
As we are nearing the end of the school year, we are starting to collect materials and get all materials returned for inventory.
The last day to check out library books is Friday May 5th. All library books will be due on Friday May 12th.
This is a great time to begin the fun search of any library books remaining on your students account. Books can be found by your bed, in the car, your backpack and many other fun hiding places. Make it a fun book hunt to locate your books.I will be hunting down books that may be in the library, but weren’t accurately checked in. Teamwork!
If you cannot locate the book, the next step is to pay the replacement price listed by going to this link or the PES webpage>quicklinks>RevTrak>LISD Library >PES and entering in the student name, ID number, and book title. (Please forward the email to me ariel_stewart@lovejoyisd.net, or let me know, so I can remove the book from the account and purchase a replacement)

Please have your child wear their grade level shirt for the outside portion of field day. Remember to send your child to school with sunscreen, a water bottle, change of clothes, hat, and towel. Several events will be water related. Students are encouraged to wear water shoes or bring dry shoes for after the event.
