Message to Parents
Our first field trip to Buford Dam on Thursday is being rescheduled due to rain!! We plan to have the field trip on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, but have not confirmed the date yet. We will still have lunch at Fish Tales, and the cost is $6.00 per student. This is a student only field trip.
We have very little donations for our guy/girl themed baskets for the Fall Festival basket auction. Please send in your donations as the auction will be held October 27, 2015. You can donate anything that you think would be suitable to a "guy basket" or a "girl basket".
Class t-shirts will be here tomorrow (Tuesday, September 29th)
Social Studies News:
We are going through the Civil War.
Reading News:
Continue to read and complete book reviews. Students can access the document from home if they use their student number when prompted. Several students have been able to successfully complete these at home.
Math News:
This week I math we will continue learning about place value. This week we will also start our Hot Wheels place value project. Student can bring in a Hot Wheels car to race.
Writing News:
The students are working through the writing process for narrative writing again. The focus is on telling deeper stories in which the student faced a challenge, faced a turning point in their lives, or learned a deeper lesson in life.
What Are the Students Learning This Week?
Math: Place Value
Social Studies: Civil War
Writing: Narrative/Memoir writing - Revising - Editing - Publishing
Reading: Making inferences, quoting accurately, and using quotes to support answers in fiction and nonfiction text.
