Family Fox Facts
March 20, 2020
Monday starts a new round of packets to pick up. I will have weeks 3 & 4 ready for you. Please pick up the new packets when you stop by for food! The packets include activities for writing. If you are in need of paper, please let me know. I have paper available!
Coming to get the food will not violate the Governor's order, so please do come and get the meals!
Meals
If you know of families that cannot make it to Meadowview, please let me know. I need to know so we can get them meals, too! Thanks so much!
5th Grade Packet for Week 2 Information
I wanted to let you know there is a duplicate story in the week 2 packet. The text, "Night Walk" was included in both week 1 & 2. The paper packets includes this story for week 2, and the online version has it removed. Kids do not have to complete the same work twice! Sorry about that error!
Work Packets for Download
The links below will send you to our website where you can find the work packets for grades K-6 for this week 1 and week 2. Check back there for weeks 3 and 4, early next week.

Shut Box Math Game (without the box)
The game, Shut the Box, can be played without a box!
You'll need small pieces of paper, like 3x3 post it size (or a deck of cards) and 2 dice.
Write one number (1-9) on each piece of paper. If you are using cards, pull out one ace and then the 2-9 of the same suit. (It's okay if they aren't the same suit!)
Line up the cards lowest to highest.
The first player rolls both dice and adds them together. They then flip the cards (or pieces of paper), also called markers (from 1 to 9) that match the sum of the numbers shown on the dice.
That player continues until they roll a number that cannot be covered by any combination of the remaining cards (or papers). That player adds up the numbers left. The object is to have the lowest possible score. The perfect score is 0, which means that all cards (or papers) are flipped and the player has completely "shut the box."
Once the player is finished, the dice are passed to the left with that player repeats the same progression and the play continues clockwise until all players have had their turn. Play 3 rounds and the player with the lowest combined total of three games is the winner.
Player 1, roll 1
Player 1, roll 2
Player 1, roll 3
Player 1, roll 4 & end of turn
Player 2 resets cards
Player 2 rolls
Memory Reading Game for Primary
Using sight words your child has not yet mastered, write each word on two different pieces of paper. Mix them up, face down, and then line them up in rows and columns. Each player turns over two cards at a time, reading the words they turned over. If the words match, that player gets to take the cards. If the words don't match, the player turns the cards over and it is now the next player's turn. Play continues until all words are taken. The player with the most matches at then of the game wins!

However, we will move on and school will be back in session at some point!
The PTO has put together supply kits for your through Shane's Office Supply. The PTO has done this a convenience for families, they didn't mark up the prices at all! This year, all the kits have teacher requested brands in them, so the prices reflect that change. Delivery is to your home! No need to pick it up at school! You can bring it on our meet & greet day!
