GHS Weekly Update

Happy New Year Team Grissom!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break. I would like to welcome Ms. Jewel Williams (DD3 - English 10) and Mr. Christopher Smith (DD6 - US History-1877) to Grissom High School. Please introduce yourself and welcome them to the Grissom Nation.
As we begin a new semester, please refer to the January calendar and the update below for important dates and reminders. Take the next couple of days to review classroom procedures and routines with your classes.

- Students will report to Homeroom FIRST
- Please follow Bell Schedule #5
- STAR testing window opens today for all English & Math classes. Remember, you are expected to test ALL of your students and have 100% participation. The STAR testing window will close Tuesday, January 12th.
Wednesday, January 6th
- Regular Bell Schedule
- Faculty meeting @ 3:30 in the library. Make-up meeting will be Thursday morning at 7:15 in the AV room.
- Grades must be finalized before you leave today. Report cards will be printed Thursday morning.

Friday, January 8th
- Approve your Kronos timecard
UPDATE/REMINDERS:
Here are a few reminders of procedures. You are expected to follow these procedures on a daily basis.
- Please refer to following attachments regarding discipline documentation and hall pass procedures:

- All teachers are expected to be visible in the hallways and outside of your doorway between every class.
- Lesson plans are to be uploaded to your grade level assistant principal on a weekly basis.
- Grades are to updated WEEKLY in iNow. This is extremely important!!
- Classroom windows are to be uncovered immediately.
- The APs and I will be conducting walkthrough-observations, so please keep you door unlocked so that we can enter your classroom quietly. I have attached the ghs walkthrough form. Remember, have your "Daily Agenda" visible including your learning target for the day. Also, incorporate a "Do Now" at the beginning of each class period to get your class started for the day.
