Back-to-School Edition
First Day of School - Wednesday, August 18th
The first day of school in Katy ISD is quickly approaching, and the staff at Miller Career and Technology Center is looking forward to welcoming all our new and returning students!
Our mission statement at Miller is to develop college- and career-ready students through engaging, real-world experiences. Accessing Your Class Schedule
When to Report to Miller
- 1st, 2nd, & 3rd periods (AM Cohort)
- 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (1st PM Cohort)
- 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (2nd PM Cohort)
If your Miller classes are listed for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd periods (AM Cohort), you will report to Miller right away in the morning. 1st period begins at 7:15 AM, so please make sure you have enough time to get into the building and to your class prior to 7:15. Your dismissal/departure time back to your home campus will be 9:45 AM.
If your Miller classes are listed for 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (1st PM Cohort), you will leave from your home campus and report to Miller during/after your lunch period. 4th period begins at 11:26 AM, so please make sure you arrive in time to get into your building and to your class prior to 11:26. Your dismissal/departure time for the end of the school day will be 2:40 PM.
If your Miller classes are listed for 5th, 6th, & 7th periods (2nd PM Cohort), you will leave from your home campus and report to Miller during/after your lunch period. 5th period begins at 12:15 PM, so please make sure you arrive in time to get into your building and to your class prior to 12:15. Your dismissal/departure time for the end of the school day will be 2:40 PM.
How to Get to and From Miller
- Students may take District-provided bus transportation (see below)
- Students may drive themselves to and from Miller (must get parking permit - see below)
- Students may be dropped off and picked up (see locations below)
District Bus Transportation - Before School & After School
Please note: These routes are for AM pick-up (bring you to Miller) or PM drop-off (take you to neighborhood drop-off from Miller) only. Shuttle buses run from Miller back to home campuses after 3rd period, and from home campuses to Miller 4th and 5th period.
Additionally, the District offers 4 Express Bus options that will depart Miller at 2:40 PM and take students directly back to their home campuses for after-school activities:
- Bus W5047 Katy High, Tompkins & Jordan
- Bus E5277 Taylor & Mayde Creek
- Bus S5244 Cinco Ranch & Seven Lakes
- Bus E5279 Paetow & Morton Ranch
District Bus Transportation - Middle of the Day
After 3rd period dismissal (9:45 AM), students will exit the building on the Rhodes Stadium side and board a bus to head back to home campus.
For 1st PM Cohort students who ride the bus to Miller (4th - 7th periods at Miller)
Bus porch pick-up locations are at the Main Entrance of your school, except Morton Ranch pick-up is the bus area at the back of campus near the Cafeteria.
Estimated pick-up times are:
11:00 Cinco Ranch, Jordan, Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch, Paetow,Seven Lakes, Taylor, Tompkins
11:05 Katy
For 2nd PM Cohort students who ride the bus to Miller (5th - 7th periods at Miller)
Bus porch pick-up locations are at the Main Entrance of your school, except Morton Ranch pick-up is the bus area at the back of campus near the Cafeteria.
Estimated pick-up times are:
11:50 Jordan, Morton Ranch, Seven Lakes, Tompkins
11:55 Cinco Ranch, Mayde Creek, Paetow, Taylor

Parking Permits/Tags for Student Drivers
Students have the first week of school to obtain a Parking Permit. Anyone who parks in an unauthorized areas (anywhere besides the southwest Rhodes Stadium lot) after the first week will be subject to impoundment by a boot locked on the car tire and a disciplinary consequence.
To obtain a Parking Permit please have the following ready-to-go:
- A photo of your driver’s license ready for upload.
- A photo or PDF of your vehicle insurance ready for upload.
- Submit the $5 fee through Pay N’Go
- Complete the Parking Permit request or use QR Code
- The Confirmation Number received through Pay N’Go is required on the Google form
Student Drop-off and Pick-up
Student Pick-up in the morning (after 3rd period) and at the end of the day (after 7th period) is located behind MCTC (on the south side). Enter through the Shaw Center parking lot and line up. There is no pick-up in front of the school. It is unsafe to pick-up students in the street. Please follow procedures. Staff members will be out to direct you. Click on the link below to view the map.
COVID Self-Reporting App
The District’s online COVID-19 Reporting System allows staff, students, and parents to self-report if they have received a COVID-19 positive test result. The self-reporting system enables the District’s Emergency Operations Management team to conduct contact tracing, as well as call and notify individuals in Katy ISD buildings who may have been directly exposed to the person.
