From the Principal...
The fall season is going by surprisingly fast! Pretty soon, it will be winter. Please make sure you write your child's name in their jackets, gloves, hats, etc. Our Lost N' Found is already overflowing!
Thank you to all who attended parent/teacher conferences last week. We hope you found value in the conversation with your child's teacher. It is clear that the Jackson students are learning, growing, and becoming true scholars.
Jackson is an AVID school, which means students learn how to take ownership of their learning. They are organized with materials and in their thoughts. They take notes in a way to help support their learning and collaborate with each other to further understand what they have been taught. Ask your child(ren) what new thing they learned at school each day, what they enjoyed about their day, and how they worked with other students.
A huge thank you to our parents/guardians who have consistently been able to get their child(ren) to school on time. Unfortunately, we have had roughy 25-30+ students tardy everyday to school. SCHOOL STARTS AT 7:50am! Please make sure students are inside of the school building BEFORE 7:50am. It is essential that students are ready to learn alongside their peers. Even one minute tardy each day, will add up over time. It is proven that students learn better when their day starts on time!
We look forward to a new fall season and as always, if you need anything, please call, email, or ClassDojo your classroom teacher(s), Principal, Social Worker, Counselor, etc.
Thank you,
Sara Miller, Principal

Time with the School Social Worker
Please remember that school starts at 7:50am. Being on time and attending every day are critical to your child's success in school. You MUST call the office to excuse any absences, or they will be unexcused. Also, you will get an absence call if your child gets to school late because attendance has already been taken by the classroom teacher. It will be corrected in the system later as a tardy, but if your child arrives later than 8:30 they will marked absent for ½ day.
The holiday season is upon us. Although resources are limited this year, there are some resources available in the community. I will also be posting them on Dojo as they become available.
