ESU3 Blended Learning Fair

ESU 3 hosted a Blended Learning Fair on March 11. It was a great day of learning that included a keynote by Catlin Tucker (@Catlin_Tucker), an English Teacher, that has been implementing blended learning into her own classroom for years and has written two books on the topic. Sessions included Maker Spaces, Tools for the Blended Classroom, Personalized Learning, and Flexible Learning Spaces. The day was capped off by a presentation from our own Ann Feldmann who provided an engaging presentation on building a blended learning environment. For more information on blended learning we encourage you to check out the resources below.

HAL Students Take Flight

Two weeks ago ESU3 brought drones to all three middle schools. HAL students at all three middle schools were challenged to overcome obstacles and problem solve with coding while flying the drones. The students used an app called Tickle to connect to the drones over bluetooth. Students wrote code to complete different challenges. They could even earn points for flying through a hoop in a game of Quidditch!

iPad Collaboration Day

iPad Academy teachers attended iPad Collab Day on Tuesday, March 15th. In the morning teachers were given technology updates by Dr. Todd Tripple and Greg Boettger. They were also given an overview of blended learning. Throughout the day, teachers worked on creating elements of a blended classroom including the creation of instructional videos, collaborative activities and putting content into Schoology. Along with creation there was sharing and collaborating about Breakout EDU and RSA animation. The day was full of collaboration, sharing, and the creation of digital content. We encourage you to follow along on Twitter by checking out #ipadacademy to see all the great things happening with the iPad classrooms!
