Judaism God and Beliefs
People who practice Judaism are called Jews. Jews believe in one god, Abraham. They worship Abraham in synagogues.
Some Jewish beliefs are to study the Tanach, and to follow god's laws including the 10 commendments. Justice is emphasized; God considers all people equal.
Kosher Foods
Some Jews eat only Kosher foods. Kosher foods have no pork, shellfish, or mixing of meat and dairy products.
Rabbis
The Jews' holy book is called the Torah. A Rabbis is a person who teaches the Torah.
Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year. It is also the time when Jews start fasting. Yom Kippur is the time when the fasting ends.
Jewish Holidays
Some Jewish holidays are Bat Mitzvah and Bar Mitzvah. They are celebrations for when a person turns 13. It means a person is a full member of the congregation. Another holiday is Rosh Hashanah. It is the Jewish new year, and also the time when the Jews start fasting. Yom Kippur is the time when the fasting ends. Another Jewish holiday is Hannukah. It celebrates the miracle of oil lasting for a long time.

This is the symbol for Jews. ( the Star of David )
