Happy New Year!
As we gear up for the next weeks of school, please remember that it is important that we all do our part to keep our school community safe and healthy. It is important that families are doing daily symptom checks at home before sending students to school. If your child is ill, please have them stay home from school. If you have questions as to whether you should send your student to school, I would encourage you to reach out to our school nurse, Arica Monahan, for guidance.
It is also important that students come to school each day with a clean, dry mask. Masks can be hand washed in hot soapy water or machine washed. They can be laid flat to air dry so that they are ready when needed. If your child needs extra masks, please contact the school office and we will ensure that you have what you need. Packing an extra mask for your student during the winter months is especially important. Students are now required to wear masks at recess and they do get wet with the cold air. Again, if you need extra masks, please let us know.
The staff at OES are looking forward to greeting your students on Monday, January 4th for in-person learning. By working together to keep everyone healthy, we are confident that we can continue to learn in-person throughout the winter months.
Happy New Year!
We would like to remind you that you should contact the school nurse if your child has any symptoms of COVID, tested positive for COVID, has been exposed to COVID, and/or traveled out of Maine in the last 14 days. Please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
