Sacramento PRAYS
Uniting people to pray in the Greater Sacramento Region.
Shifts
1. move or cause to move from one place to another, especially over a small distance.
2. a slight change in position, direction, or tendency.
3. recurring periods in which different workers do the same job in relay.
When I think of the word “shift” in regards to the Sacramento Valley, I am brought back to the summer of 2012. It was during this summer that we saw a direct answer to the prayers of a handful of Intercessors and pastors bringing the Luis Palau Festival to our region. There are times when "events" come through our area and leave us unchanged. Then, there are times “events” come through and everything changes!
I believe this festival shifted us as the Church I now fondly call "The Church of Sacramento" or Roseville, or Rocklin, or Loomis, or Elk Grove, or Folsom…
You have to admit, we have changed! We gather as servant leaders more, we mobilize to serve more, we gather more to pray, we break bread together more… we shifted!
When I think of the Valley's prayer leaders there are some precious intercessors that immediately come to mind and heart. Dr. Ted Rose, Annie Fish, Judy Trent-Whitnack, Dr. Henry Wells, Adena Hodges, Diane and Nick Parnell, Michael Davis and many, many more. As a prayer community we are so thankful for their faithful commitment in keeping the fires of intercession burning. I would like to specifically highlight the work that Judy Trent-Whitnack has done during the last four years. Her relentless efforts to connect us and her personal commitment to prayer have paved the way in our region for years to come. Thank you and bless you Judy!
So with reflections, thanks and accolades all said, allow me to share a coming shift. Pastor Jeff Kreiser of the ACTS group and the SacramentoPRAYS leadership invited Beth Mulkin and me (Shaun) to facilitate the Prayer Leaders Fellowship. In this, we will also be linking arms with City Pastors Fellowship. Our desire through Prayer Leaders Fellowship is to gather together prayer leaders in the Sacramento Region in order to fellowship, pray, worship, resulting in inspiration, encouragement, support and equipping. Prayer Leaders will be filled with hope and courage! We will be gathering quarterly. Some of the same churches hosting City Pastors Fellowship will be hosting us. We will have a full schedule to you for the year by our March 5 gathering.
Please scroll down for scripture encouragement from Beth Mulkin!
We are excited to partner with each of you in Christ Jesus through SacramentoPRAYS, uniting and encouraging the body of Christ as God continues to move in amazing ways!
Blessings,
Shaun Gartman
Beth and I have deep feelings, thoughts and tenderness toward Sacramento’s Prayer Leaders. Many of those thoughts come directly from the Word.
Here are just a few:
“We pray that Prayer leaders would be encouraged in heart, united and knit together in Love, having the full riches of complete understanding, growing together in the revelation knowledge of who God truly is… so that we may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true and more intimate knowledge of the mystery of God… that is Christ." (AMP - Paraphrased)
"We also continuously pray that God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation giving you a deep, personal and intimate insight into the true knowledge of Him, for we know the Father through the Son. We pray that the eyes of your heart, at the very center core of your being may be enlightened and flooded with light by the Holy Spirit, so that you will know and cherish the Hope and divine guarantee of the confident expectation to which He has called you… the riches of the glorious inheritance in the saints."
(AMP - Paraphrased)
