Igo Family Newsletter - Issue 34 - April 25, 2022
A message from Ms. Malone, Interim Principal
This UIL season, about 60 of our Igo students participated in UIL competition (46 just this weekend). Events ranged across the written and the spoken language to include Storytelling, Oral Reading; Music Memory, Visual Art, Listening, Spelling; Graphics such as maps, graphs, and charts; Dictionary skills; and Numeracy. Congratulations to all of our courageous and talented students who participated and appreciation to the teachers who coached and prepared them and graded/scored their work. Special thanks to Ms. Golla who coordinated the entire UIL event for our school. Heartfelt appreciation.
Parents, thank you for partnering with us and supporting our work as teachers, counselors, support staff and administrators in continuing to build a community of kind and caring members. We practice daily what kindness “looks like” and “sounds like.” From the littlest to the oldest—they get it, so thank you for your obvious help and support.
I’ve begun having encouraging conversations with our older students individually relating to their plans for success on STAAR this year. Awesome conversations! They are amazing and so vested in doing their best!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to share with your teachers, your counselors or your Admin team. And as always, my door remains open.
