Reminder Monday, September 19th there is no school. All district professional development day

Reynolds Families,

Now that we have completed a month of school, classroom cultures and procedures have been set. Students are now focused on learning their grade level standards.

This Friday we will practice our fire drill procedures with all students.

A few important reminders:


  • Please do not drop of your student(s) before 8:25 am. There is no supervision before that time. Contact our before school provider ASAP for more information regarding the before school program. ASAP --760-916-5472.
  • As a reminder our district has an School Board adopted Wellness policy. Make sure you are sending healthy snacks and lunches. NO candy or Hot Cheetos are allowed on campus.
  • Birthday celebrations. We are not able to have food from outside providers. As a suggestion a goody bag with pencils/erasers, small toys as an alternative.
  • We will have another all district staff development day on Monday, October 3rd.There will be no school on this day also.

Non Student Days for Staff Professional Development Days

Our school calendar for 2022-2023 has three additional non-student days on Mondays throughout the year.

The dates that students will not come to school will be 9/19/22, 10/3/22, and 3/13/23.

Please keep these dates in mind and make necessary arrangements.

Another great week in the books. We are entering week six and our kiddos are off to a great start. This week will be a short week with Monday off. I hope you all have a restful weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Tuesday.

PTO News

Help support our school and PTO by joining us for our first Dinner Night Out (DNO) at Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in downtown Oceanside (228 N. Coast Hwy) THIS Wednesday, September 21, from 4 - 7 pm! Be sure to bring a copy of the flyer or show a digital copy for Reynolds to get credit. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our school. See you there!


Are you a parent of a 5th grader? If so, mark your calendar for Thursday, September 29th at 6 pm for a meeting about 5th grade camp! We'll be discussing fundraising and camp details. More information will be sent home soon about meeting specifics.

Volunteer Guidelines

We welcome volunteers back on campus. If interested in volunteering in the classroom please contact teacher directly.
Volunteer Levels ~ Vaccination is no longer a requirement, volunteers now have the option to submit a weekly negative COVID-19 test to the front office

STUDENT DEVICE PROTECTION PLAN WINDOW Until September 30th

The window to purchase the optional Chrome Device Protection Plan is now open.

The cost is $20 and coverage includes, but is not limited to, accidental damage, spills, and cracked screens. Participation is optional but highly recommended. With this coverage, there is no out of pocket cost for repairs to the Chrome device. Repairs without the protection plan can run between $40 and $285.

Looking for Playground Supervisors

We are looking for playground supervisors that will support with lunch and recess supervision of students. This is a part-time paid position. If interested, please let our office staff know and they will provide you with more information.

Ice Cream Sales on Fridays

Reynolds' cafeteria will begin selling ice cream starting this Friday. Students can purchase an ice cream or a cookie for $1.00. The sales will only be on Fridays. If you wish your child to purchase a treat please send them with only one dollar ($1.00).

2022- 2023 Bell Schedule and School Calendar

Please refer to OUSD calendar as there are 3 additional non-student days on Mondays throughout the school year: Sept. 19, Oct. 3, March 13.

  • Grades 1-5:

    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: 8:55 AM-3:35 PM
    • Wednesdays and other scheduled Minimum Days: 8:55 AM-1:05 PM

    TK/Kindergarten:

    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:55 AM- 2:50 PM
    • Wednesdays and other scheduled Minimum Days: 8:55 AM-1:05 PM

No Dogs on Campus

The OUSD Board of Education approved a District Policy that prohibits dogs on campus, for the safety and health of all our students and staff. Please do not bring your dog if you walk your student to school.

Student Arrival and Dismissal

A huge thank you families for your patience during these past 3 days during dismissal. We ask that you continue to follow our procedures to keep all students, families and staff safe.


We are asking you to be patient during arrival and dismissal due to excess traffic. We have set procedures for car drop off and pick up. No double parking will be allowed. This is for the safety of all students.


Arrival Reminders ALL Grades:

  • Please drive up all the way up to drop off your student
  • Please stay in your car as you drop off your student
  • All parents stay in car lane to drop off your student and DO NOT cut off other cars in line or double park to get out and walk your child


Dismissal Reminders :

  • Please drive up all the way up as staff will escort your student toward your car
  • Please do not double park and ask your student to cross in between cars
  • Please keep the line moving; your child will walk to your car

  • Opens for Arrival at 8:25 am for all students to come onto campus.
  • Opens for Dismissal at 3:35 pm for only 1st to 5th grade students.
