Local Artist Visits Galway High School Art Classes

Local artist Betsi Shelffo visited the high school art classes on Friday, October 30, to share her life experiences and artwork with the morning classes. Mrs. Shelffo discussed her journey as an artist.

Mrs. Shelffo shared the frustrations, the happy accidents, and the rewarding work that comes with being an artist. The class also discussed how professional artists market and price their art. Students engaged Betsi by asking intriguing questions such as “which was your most frustrating piece & why” and “what was the most expensive art that you have ever sold?”

Betsi was even so kind as to view individual art from the students who were eager to share it with her.

The art classes would like to thank Mrs. Shelffo for the generous donation of her time, knowledge and exposure to a new medium of art: coffee portraits.

If you would like to see Betsi’s art in person you can visit Coffee Planet in Ballston Spa or visit her webpage at www.facebook.com/BeansbyBetsi.
