#C6edtech Resources:
Week of 10.5.15
Welcome to another edition of the #C6edtech Resources blog! This week's post shares a few reminders about technology in the district, demonstrates a way to handle digital Parent/Teacher Conference sign ups, and contains an infographic with some great tips on using Google Classroom.
BYOD Expectations
Students in our middle and high schools have the opportunity to participate in our Bring Your Own Device program. One of the keys to success with any new initiative is clear expectations. Be sure to communicate clear and consistent expectations to your students who bring their personal devices to school. Click here for a printable copy of the BYOD expectations poster.
New Students' Google Accounts
If a new student transfers into your class from outside the district this school year or you have a student in your class who is new to the Fox district, you will need to help the student activate his or her @foxc6.org Google account. Click here for information on the short process of activating a student's Google account.
Online Professional Development Requests
As you begin to apply to attend professional development this year, don't reach for the old triplicate visitation request; the new professional development request form is now online and living on the district web page. Click here for a video demonstrating how to fill out the PD Request Form.
Digitally Schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences with Calendly
Parent/Teacher conferences are just around the corner, and that means that many teachers are trying to figure out the best way to schedule conferences with all of their students' parents. Calendly is a free scheduling tool that gives teachers the ability to set appointment times and let parents schedule an appointment without having to shuffle paper back and forth for a week. With Calendly, teachers can set appointments at a set interval and share a link with parents who can then sign up for a time that works best for them! Click here for step by step instructions on setting up a Calendly calendar.
Digitally Schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences with Calendly
Have you started using Google Classroom to assign, monitor, collect, and return student work? You're not alone. Teachers all around the Fox School District and across the country have started using this powerful tool in conjunction with other Google tools to create a paperless workflow in their classrooms. The infographic below, created by Alice Keeler and Michael Fricano II shares some of the most important tips to know when using Google Classroom.
