From the Principals
Dear RES Community:
We had a good virtual PTA meeting last week, where we engaged in good discussions covering all sorts of topics. Thank you to the PTA for setting this meeting up for everyone.
We hope you enjoyed the Redding Artisan Fair this past weekend at JRMS. Despite the rain, it was well attended.
This Wednesday, we welcome prospective new families to learn more about our PreSchool program at 3:15pm. Please see more information in this issue of Tuesday's Newsday below.
We look forward to our continued partnership at RES as we "Reach Every Student" together.
Thank you, and have a wonderful rest of your week -

- Report absences in School Dismissal Manager and/or email the nurse.
- In the presence of a fever (temperature above 100.0 F) or significant illness your child should see the pediatrician and will need a covid test or an alternate diagnosis (ear infection, strep throat, etc.) prior to returning to school. In any case of fever or vomiting, the child needs to be fever free (without medication) or not vomiting for 24 hours or more prior to returning to school.
- Please report all POSITIVE COVID tests immediately to the school nurse and the district coordinator at covid@er9.org and jconnolly@er9.org. If you have any questions about this or the protocols please call 203-938-2519 ext. 309. Also notify the nurse if your child is identified as a close contact of someone with covid outside of school.

LOST AND FOUND
During the holiday break, items in our lost & found will be donated to charity. Please stop by and check out the inventory. There is a mountain of clothing.
Thank you -
OUTDOOR DRESS
The weather has been CRAZY - frigid temperatures, then near 60 degrees.
With the colder days, we need your children to be dressed appropriately to go outside. We make every effort to be outdoors, every day for recess. Warm jackets, gloves, hat and possibly boots, if it had been raining or snowing, where the grounds are wet. Consider sending in a spare set of clothes in your child's backpack in case they get wet outdoors.
Please label your child's name on all clothing. Clothing with names on them have a better chance of finding their way back to your child.
Thank you so much.
CAR TAGS FOR DISMISSAL
When picking up your child from school early, please present your photo ID at our welcome window and not your car tag. Thank you.
Information regarding our dismissal procedure is available in our Parent Handbook located on our website at www.reddinglementaryps.org
Thank you -
Important Reminders
Parking
Please do not park in Fire Lanes. They should remain open for emergency vehicles at all times.
Arrival & Dismissal
Parents/Guardians who are dropping off students in the morning, or picking up students in the afternoon are asked to remain in their vehicles during this process. We will have staff on hand ready to support during these transition times. If you are dropping off your child in the morning please be sure their mask is on and backpack is ready BEFORE you pull up to the drop off location, so that we can quickly and safely transition kids out of vehicles and into the building.
IF your child needs extra help getting in / out of your vehicle, please park your car in an available parking space to assist your child, and please walk them to the curb. This will help move our car line along more swiftly.
RES Visitors
Due to the current health and safety precautions in place, we are limiting visitors in our building to essential business only. If you need to come to the school to pick up your child, please be sure you have a government issued ID on you for entry each and every time. Even if we recognize you, we will ask for your ID. This is our policy.
Traffic Safety
Please be reminded to follow all traffic rules while driving in our parking lots and around RES, including stopping at stop signs and adhering to the speed limit. Cars may not travel into the bus loop during arrival and dismissal.School Dismissal Manager
If there are changes to your child's dismissal plans, remember to log in to School Dismissal Manager to update with the new plans before 1:30pm or 11:30am on an early dismissal. A reminder that 'bus' is the default for all students. Distribution of a student pick up number tag, or the data from the summer survey does not automatically inform us that your child is a pick up. RES relies on our daily SDM report as to what your child is doing at the end of the school day.
