Ninja Warriors: What are they thinking?
Have you seen the show American Ninja Warrior? It's a competition show where individuals compete to complete a course of crazy, physical obstacles in the fastest time possible. Few individuals complete the course. It's very intense.
Prior to starting each course run, what do you think the competitors are thinking? Make a list of the things they might be focusing on before the event. And like the Wallendas from last week, how do you think the Ninja Warrior competitors got started? How do you think they got to the place where they made the national tv show?
Add these discussion notes to last week's homeroom discussion notes. We'll look at the Wallendas and the Ninjas again in next week's Scoop.
And where do you think we are going with this? Why are we talking about daredevil stunts and feats of amazing physical strength? Hmmm. Find out more in next week's Scoop!
Helping Houston Challenge
Based on the results of our school-wide vote this morning, we're going to support the American Red Cross with our donation! Our school vote was Red Cross 330, Texas Food Bank 173, and Houston area middle-school 117.
Our donation goal is to give the amount that you would have spent on junk food next week. Cut out all junk (food and drinks) for the week and give the savings to support Texans in need. Helping others sometimes involves sacrifice. Can we give up some extra snacks to help out Texans? Can we skip a run to Chillers or a Big Red this week? Please give!
