Tuesday, March 3rd: Lacrosse Parent meeting in Saranac Lake at 6 p.m. in their HS Auditorium

Wednesday, March 4th: Winters Sports Recognition Ceremony at 7 p.m. in the LPMHS Auditorium

Tuesday, March 10th: Springs Sports Parent Meeting (excluding lacrosse) at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium

Lake Placid High School Blood Drive!

On Wednesday, March 4th the Key Club will be hosting their annual spring blood drive in the MHS cafeteria from 9:30am-2:30pm. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Junior/Senior Prom

The junior/senior prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th.

Pre-Registering to Vote at 16- Registration Assistance Available

Although you must be 18 to vote in an election, students can pre-register at 16 or 17 here. A student who is at least sixteen years of age and who is otherwise qualified to register to vote my pre-register and will be automatically registered upon reaching the voting age of 18.

High School Counseling News!

Thursday, March 5th: ASVAB Assessment

ASVAB: An assessment provided to students where they can learn more about themselves and the world of work. It provides students with the opportunity to explore occupations in line with their interests and skills. The test will be offered in the computer lab following homeroom. Students must sign up with Mrs. Hammaker. (see flyer below)


Thursday, March 19th: Inaugural LPHS Career Expo

Being held in the library here at school from 10:00am-12:30pm! There will be an array of job and career exploration opportunities! Keep an eye on your inbox for more details regarding this event (see flyer below).


Wednesday, March 25th: SAT School Day

This will be offered to all juniors, free of charge. Closer to the date, juniors will sign up through the guidance office. Parents will receive information if their student(s) signed up.

Science Olympiad News

On January 25th, the Middle and High School Science Olympiad teams competed in the Science Olympiad Adirondack Regional event. The middle school came in first place and the high school came in second! The high school team will be competing in the state tournament on March 13th and 14th at Le Moyne College in Syracuse and the middle school team will compete on April 17th and 18th at East Syracuse-Minoa High School in Syracuse.

ADK Job Fair

Are you looking for a job??? The Adirondack Daily Enterprise and North Country Community College will be hosting their annual job fair on Wednesday, March 4th. Students and adults are invited to the Sparks Athletic Complex from 12-4pm.

Board of Education News

The Lake Placid Central School District announces the polling hours for the budget vote will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020. The time change from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. is necessitated due to the Essex County voting machines not being available for the Annual School District Meeting and Election.


The Board of Education will meet to discuss the 2020-2021 budget on March 17, 2020 - 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is anticipated that the Board of Education will adopt the final budget on March 31, 2020 or April 20, 2020.


Members of the community are welcome to attend the meeting and/or follow along on BoardDocs http://www.boarddocs.com/ny/lpcsd/Board.nsf/Public.


Community members may submit questions they would like the Board to address during their work sessions by email to lpdistrictclerk@lpcsd.org or during the regular Board of Education meetings during the Good of the Cause. The Board of Education meetings are the first and third Tuesdays of the month beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Volunteer Opportunities!!!

*Adopt a Grandparent Program between the Middle/High School and Elderwood, this is a new opportunity that will be starting soon at Elderwood of Uihlein. Details about the program will be available soon.


*Do you want to be a part of an awesome community summer music series? Songs at Mirror Lake needs volunteers to help with many things including, set-up, load-in, handing out programs, selling raffle tickets, and more. Please call/text Jennifer at 518-524-4093 or Bill at 518-524-4328.

Cole Circus at the LPMHS

The Cole Circus is coming to the Middle High School next Thursdday, March 5th. Advance tickets for adults $10.00 available in the MHS main office. Tickets available at the door for $15.00. Two children allowed free per adult tickets.
