Beak Speak
As the lights and music of Christmas are filling the air, I am finding peace during a hectic time. The twinkling lights, the trees, the beautiful decorations before Thanksgiving, are evidence people are in need of HOPE. The season of giving ignites hope in humanity. It is a time we focus on others, and when we see goodness in our world. I think we've needed a little Christmas for a while now.
I am continually amazed at my staff at LaFayette. They are working hard to meet your child's needs. I want you to know it is our goal each day to support you through this unique year of learning challenges. Meaningful conversation and reading with your child remain effective ways to build vocabulary and reading skills. Just twenty minutes nightly makes a tremendous impact for your child's development.
We have some exciting events coming prior to our extended Christmas vacation. Please look over the 12 Days of Christmas with your child. We will have a "Giving Tree" in the commons where we hope to collect warm blankets, gloves, hats and stockings filled with toiletries we will give to our community in need. We want our students to learn how they can impact their community in small and powerful ways by giving to others. This is our Dream this season!
