Be it known to all who enter here, that Christ is the reason for this school. He is the unseen, but ever present teacher in the classrooms, the model of its faculty, and the inspiration of its students.

School-Wide Learning Expectation of The Week: Culturally Aware/Global Citizens who are peacemakers

By the time our 8th-grade students graduate from Our Lady of Las Vegas, students should consistently strive to create and promote a harmonious environment in the classroom and on the playground.

This week our students will focus on relationships and choices we make on the playground and in the classroom.

Stay Home if Sick OR Have Had a COVID-19 Exposure

Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling sick or if you have to medicate them to feel well enough to attend school. We want to keep our classes open!

Out of an abundance of caution if a child goes home due to COVID-19 symptoms they are required to go to the doctor to either be cleared or take a COVID-19 test. A child must be cleared by a doctor OR have a negative COVID-19 test IN ADDITION to being symptom-free for 24 hours without medication prior to returning to campus.

If your child is not going to attend school please email attendance@ollv.org. If your child has been out sit please make sure you send the doctor's note to school with your child the day they are returning.

Dismisal Time

As a reminder school is out at 2:50 PM each day for all grades. The gates will open at 2:45 PM.

Note From Mr. E: Christmas Eve Choir

Father Gerry is inviting the children of the school from 3rd through 5th Grade to sing for our Christmas Eve Mass at OLLV Church on 24th of December, at 4:00 pm. It is such a blessing and a tremendous honor to be part of this solemn event. The children are always thrilled to participate… we will have Christmas music for all.

We will have short 30 min. rehearsals after school in Church from 3:00 pm- 3:30 pm on Mondays, Dec. 6th and Dec. 13th. We require that parents and guardians stay in the church and not leave the children during the rehearsals. If parents/ guardians are not there at dismissal time, we will walk the participants to the aftercare program.

Call time of the Christmas Eve Mass is at 3:30 pm for seating and vocal warm-up. An incentive will be given to the members who will participate in this event; they will be given an enjoyable ice cream sandwiches and juice boxes when we come back to school in January. Thank you so much for your encouragement. Important notice: please have the children wear their Sunday best attire, no tennis/ sport shoes, ties for the boys, dresses for the girls. If your children are part of the Nativity play for that mass, that’s perfect! They can proceed to the choir area after the play.

God bless you for all your support. Merry Christmas!

Sincerely yours,

Free Dress Reminders

Students are invited to wear free dress in celebration of their birthdays. A special free

dress day will be chosen for our summer birthdays!

Students will be asked to refrain from wearing free dress on School Mass days (Fridays and Holy Days of Obligation).

When wearing free dress on P.E. days, students are expected to wear or bring the appropriate shoes to fully participate in classes. Appropriate shoes for P.E. classes include the following, as stated on previous pages: Athletic/Running/Tennis shoes: all shoes must provide appropriate support.

All of our students enjoy free dress days, however, if students do not follow the non-uniform dress code, “free dress” privileges will be revoked for the remainder of the school year.

Outerwear

Fall time is here! Please make sure that you send your child to school with a jacket or sweater. In the classroom, students are only permitted to wear an OLLV sweatshirt or sweater with logo; however, when students go out to recess/lunch they are encouraged to wear a coat to stay warm.

Playground

To follow our COVID-19 protocols please make sure you pick up your student from the classroom and exit the campus promptly. Please do not allow your child to play on the school playground after school, as we do not want to mix the cohorts and want to stay as safe as possible. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
