SPECIAL: Mark The Date Edition
Parent Involvement and Student Learning
Tuesday, April 28 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time/5:00 PM Pacific Time
Erin Klein will be leading a discussion on Parent Involvement and Student Learning.
For those of you who are not familiar with Erin, she is a nationally known speaker and has been teaching in Elementary Education and Literacy
Inervention since 2008. She blogs at Kleinspiration and is a member of the Scholastic Top Teaching Team. Erin is well known as an expert in embedding technology in curriculum to enhance instruction and increase student engagement.
One of her passions is helping teachers harness parent involvement to help drive student learning. Parents are the number on influence on students, and when parents and teachers work together, students can reach their full potential.
Erin will start the discussion around these questions:
- How are teachers and school involving parents to help drive student achievement?
- Can this be done in a normal workweek?
- Sometimes it seems as if we are working at cross purposes, how can we work together as a team?
We would love to add your voice to this discussion. Please register here.
Looking forward to seeing you.

Alabama Educational Technology Conference
June 9-11, 2015
Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex
FEATURED SPEAKERS FOR 2015
We are excited to announce that Jeff Utecht and Leslie Fisher will be joining us again this year and we welcome David Justin Lockhart!
The Alabama Educational Technology Conference (AETC) is sponsored by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and Montgomery County Schools. The Conference is organized by a Steering Committee, comprised of members from the Educational Technology staff at the ALSDE, along with other sections in the department. AETC contracts with McRae & Co. of Tallahassee, FL to manage the exhibits and conference registration.
AETC is dedicated to the professional development of educators. For nineteen years, the Conference has played a key role in helping educators at all levels increase their understanding of the role of technology in education. The Conference provides educators the opportunity to learn about the latest in educational technology and offers a forum for discussion among professionals concerned with educational technology. AETC offers almost 150 concurrent sessions, nationally known speakers and presenters, workshops focusing on the latest in technological innovations and software, and over 150 commercial exhibits featuring state-of-the-art technology.
AETC is open to any individuals interested in educational technology. There is no typical organizational structure--no membership dues and no membership list. Those who have attended a recent conference will receive updates through emails and postal mail. The descriptions of concurrent sessions and workshops will be available in the conference program and on this website.
The Conference was first held in 1994 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham. In 2012 the Conference moved to Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville. AETC 2015 will be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. Terry Atchison is the current conference coordinator. Donna Fuller and Joan Greene-Fisher are co-coordinators of the conference. Donna will be working with the scheduling and programs; Joan will be managing logistics for the conference.
