Hello BRMES Families,

I am so excited to provide you a regular monthly family newsletter and tell you what a great week we had.

I think I can speak for all of my staff how great it was to see all of our students, new and old, come back to school full time. We miss those sweet smiles and faces; but we know we will see them again, soon, we all hope. Our new 'Hollywood Stars' theme is sure to keep it fun for all!

I want to share with you how enrollment is looking at BRMES and can assure you we've been busy answering those phones and emails as fast as we can. Open enrollments from out of our attendance boundary are becoming more and more difficult to accept as we just keep growing. We added 53 new students to BRMES this year in grades 1-5 . We have maintained three teachers at each grade level.

Current Enrollment: 410

Kindergarten: 53

1st Grade: 57

2nd Grade: 81

3rd Grade: 74

4th Grade: 69

5th Grade: 76

As things are constantly changing, we will also continue to adjust in any way we can to ensure we are doing all we can for the safety of ourselves and our students.

We are committed to making this a great year! Please reach out to the school at (208) 634-2219 or email me at with any questions you have.

Mrs. Berg

Mask Clarification:

  • Physician's Exemption: We must have a physicians signature on file if your child has a condition that exempts them from mask wearing. All other students & staff, when indoors, are mandated to wear a mask.

  • MUSIC Clarification: We do not have band or choir at BRMES, but an instructional music classroom similar to a regular classroom. Masks are required in elementary music class. When 4th and 5th grades begin their recorder unit(s), instruction will occur outside without masks with safe social distancing.

  • PE Clarification: Similar to music, our students in PE start with an instructional lesson where masks will be required. When physical activity begins; masks may come off so students can breathe and run freely away from each other. Many of our PE lessons are also outside where masks are not required.

  • Lunch: We will continue to utilize our outside lawn for lunch for all students until the weather forces us inside.

Student Drop Off {Arrival} Information:

7:45-8:15: DROP OFF/PLAYGROUND OPEN: The doors will not open until 7:45. Only BRMES students (& staff) will be permitted in the building. Students will go directly to the cafe for a breakfast bag or outside until 8:05. Mornings are chilly so either delay drop off or send kids with layers. At 8:05 a bell rings to direct all students to go to their individual classrooms. Masks are required when inside the building. Students who arrive after the 8:15 bell will be marked tardy.

ABSENCES: Please call {634-2219} or email ( if your child(ren) will be absent. Automated calls will go out to all unverified absences, shortly after attendance for the safety/accountability of all students.

Dismissal Procedures

Safety is our number one priority and we ask for your patience as we continue to make adjustments daily to help the dismissal process run smoothly.

Here are the BRMES dismissal processes we are currently using:

1. Buses: Students load buses at 3:00 from the west doors. Buses strive to leave BRMES by 3:10. Students need to be registered through Harlow's to ride the bus. We have registration forms at the school or you can contact Harlow's (634-1089). We encourage everyone to utilize the busing system as it is quickest and safest.

2. Walking/Biking: Students are dismissed out the north playground doors and then proceed to walk/bike home from there. Parents may meet their child(ren) on the playground to practice a safe route from school. This includes any students walking to the middle school.

3. Pick Up Students: These students are dismissed out the front/main doors at 3:00. All students will be directed to the west side of the front doors to wait for their adult or vehicle from the grass lawn. Students must stay back on the grass until their vehicle is in the loading zone. Please pull as far forward as possible in the loading zone before stopping. We will load kids from the curb size into vehicles.

If you need to send a message to your child with a change of dismissal plans; please call (634-2219) the school by 2:30 to give us enough time to deliver the message. It does count against your child's attendance if they are checked out before 3:00.

Tortoise & the Hare Fundraiser (with Volunteer Sign Up)

Students will be walking laps at Sabala Field on the Payette Lakes Middle School grounds on Friday, September 17th. This is our one and only fundraiser for our PTA. The rest of the year, as a PTA we just come together to decide on what events and things we can do for our kids with our earned profits. Students will have 30 minutes to walk or run laps and earn a bracelet for each lap he/she completes. We are trying to encourage BIG participation this year and have many more exciting incentives to get kids to ask family and close friends for a donation. Our BRMES families are invited to come watch or sign up to volunteer.

10:30-11:00: 4th Grade

11:00-11:30: 5th Grade

11:45-12:15: 3rd Grade

1:00-1:30: Kindergarten

1:30-2:00: 2nd Grade

2:00-2:30: 1st Grade

This year we are adding fun prizes for students and classes that bring in pledges/donations.
