Relationships, Relationships, Relationships!
2018-19 Contract Information
The contract language is different than in the past but follows the State law which requires teachers to work a minimum of 187 duty days. Our Board approved school calendar (attached) shows which days teachers are scheduled to work and which days are school holidays; which is stated in the Term paragraph on the contract:
Term. The District agrees to employ the Employee for the 2018-2019 school year(s), beginning on the first workday for Employee’s position as set by the District. For purposes of this paragraph, a “duty month” may be a calendar month or may be measured from mid-month to mid-month, depending on the date of the first duty day. The District will develop a calendar of mandatory duty days, which shall establish minimum days of work, and which is subject to amendment. Further, the District will develop standard workday hours, which may be adjusted by Employee’s supervisors as necessary to ensure efficient operation of the District. As a salaried exempt professional, the Employee is expected to work outside business hours and on weekends to complete work necessitated by Employee’s assignment.
While classroom teachers work the required minimum 187 days, other teachers depending on their role may work longer duty days and this language covers all positions based on their assigned duty days. It should be noted, that the Term language is the same for all professionals who received a contract (i.e. administrators, teachers and other professionals).
RES Needs
This google document will serve as a place you can add ideas for community projects so that as groups reach out to us, we know what you feel is needed to improve our campus. These should be cosmetic, low cost projects.
