The Beautiful Side of Life

...in the midst of quarantine ... part V

Why bother?

Why bother?...is it worth it? ... what does it matter? These are all things I have heard numerous times throughout this quarantine process. Seniors who are wondering if their hard work was really worth it now that their senior year doesn't look like they planned. Students who are feeling unnoticed. And a lot of us wondering if, in this quiet season where everything looks different than we thought, what does it matter? Listen up ... it matters. There isn't one season of our lives that doesn't matter. Each one builds upon the next, slowly creating who we will become in life. Think of your own heroes and mentors ... how different would their influence be in your life if they had given up when it was hard?

It would be great if we could simply be successful, integrity-filled people without any effort, but the truth of the matter is that the most important pieces of our character are created in the places that nobody sees but us.

So ... is it worth it? Yes. Does it matter? Yes. Why bother? Because this unplanned time in life is going to catapult you into amazing things in the years to come. For once in a really long time we actually have time. Don't waste it.
