February 2019
I Love Books!
February is Black History Month
There are many titles in our library that support teaching Black History Month at Peters Colony. The following are some examples: One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia, We March by Shane W. Evans, and Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman.
There are also many biographies in our collection that highlight the accomplishments of some very famous individuals including Martin Luther King, Jr. , Ruby Bridges, Rosa Parks and Oprah Winfrey. Please let me know if you need me to pull any materials for you.

Blind Date With a Book!
Engineers Week 2019
This year Engineers Week is February 17 - 23rd. The website describes this years theme, Engineers: Invent Amazing as something that "resonates with us as we are continually amazed by all of the engineers we know and all of the amazing ways they make the world a better place." Visit the website at http://www.discovere.org/our-programs/engineers-week to learn about the many and varied events of Engineers Week 2019. There are cool student activities and more. All the stations in the library will be engineering activities, so be sure to send your students, on passes, to take part in Engineers Week and hopefully inspire them to become future Engineers!
