The Journal Jar is a great mlearning tool to generate writing prompts during free writing and journaling sessions with your students. This App gives each student a random topic to draw on for inspiration when doing in class writing. You can choose to pull the website up on your SMARTboard and have all the students write on the same randomly selected topic or if you have access to individual devices you can have students have all the students generate their own topics. This way as the reader you will have a variety of journal entries topics to collect. Which might be a lot more interesting than reading many entries based on the same topic!
Shmoop is an online website and app that has tons of activity based learning and extra help lessons that can aid learning outside of the classroom. The App allows students to select a subject area and go into further depth and detail on the given text. Polleverywhere is an mlearning tool that is defined by its name most accurately. It allows for whoever has access to the link and/or text number to respond to a poll from where ever they might be. At the k-12 level this will most purposefully be used in the classroom to gage engagement and regain the students interest in class by providing them with a poll to respond to. You can use this to effectively find out how many of the students in the class have mastered or understood content in the classroom and how much extra time might be needed to spend on a topic. It is also used to gain perspective on some of the opinions of the students in your classroom.
