Thank you!!

Thank you, KHE PTO and KHE Families for an amazing Book Fair and Ice Cream Social Event. We had quite a turnout and it was such a blessing to see families together again in the school!

We had so many people attend that the ice cream team had to make an additional THREE trips to FOUR different stores for more ice cream!!

Thank you!

From 10:00 am - 2:00 pm there will be a community event with food trucks, bounce houses, carnival games, dunk tank, and many other events. This family friendly event is open to all!

News and Reminders

  • Masks are now optional on district transportation. Once again, thank you as we continue to navigate various changes throughout this school year.
  • Friendly reminder, there is no breakfast served on 2 hour delay days.
  • Breakfast is available each day. We want students to benefit from this opportunity. However, we have started to notice some students are coming only to socialize, but then throw out the breakfast and do not actually eat. Please check in with your student to see if they are having breakfast if that is your family's desire. Please review they should be there for the purpose of eating and return right to class. If your student is coming and not eating, please review that they should remain in homeroom. We will support in the cafeteria also.
  • Volunteers are beginning to be used again, as we approach special event and field trip season. If you are unsure if you are still an approved volunteer with active board approval, feel free to call the main office at Kissel Hill Elementary and a team member can check your status. If you've never had clearances to volunteer or you know you need to reapply, the process and form can be found here. We'd love to have more parents/guardians to be available when volunteers are needed.
  • Please keep the handicapped parking spots open for those with handicapped needs. We are finding at pick-up time that cars park in the handicapped spots without a handicapped tag causing the families with handicapped needs to park farther away.

One School, One Book Update

We are off to a great start with One School, One Book! Some pictures are included below!

As a reminder, you can find the One School, One Book Calendar HERE.

We hope you are taking advantage of this opportunity to spend some quality time reading together as a family!

Smile Cards

At our opening faculty meeting, we discussed a simple word, "smile." During these challenging times, it is important to tap into what makes us smile. We have followed that up with "smile" cards where staff members can nominate one another for making a difference in helping others smile at Kissel Hill Elementary. If you would like to share how a staff member has made a positive difference for your child and/or family this school year, please fill access the link to complete the Google Form. We want to celebrate our staff members for the positive impact they are making.

I have greatly enjoyed reading these and sharing them with staff members! Thank you!
