A Successful First Week!
The first few days are in the books and I have to say, it feels great to have all the students back in the building, seeing their smiling faces. There is a different energy throughout the school and we are thankful for this.
Mr. Fossitt met with each grade level to welcome them and shared tips for a successful school year, a few important school procedures, and other general information typical for the first few days of school.
Students will be bringing home some documents that need parent/guardian signatures. Please look for those if you have not already signed them. I encourage you to review our student handbook to familiarize yourself with school rules and procedures, which can be found on the school website https://nice.k12.mi.us/westwood-high/student-handbook-pdf/
There is no school on Monday, September 6th in observance of Labor Day. We will resume classes on Tuesday, September 7th.
COVID-19 Protocals
Nurse Korpi sent an email home last week outlining COVID-19 procedures and options for parents/students this school year. If you did not receive the email there is a link below to the information.
Important Reminders
Closed Campus - Students are not to leave campus during lunch and may not sit in their car during lunch.
Parking Permits - Students who drive to campus are required to have a parking permit, which can be purchased in the office for $2.00
Check In/Out Procedure. - Students who leave campus for any reason must have parent permission. Parents should contact the office to let us know when their child is leaving and if they will be returning. Students should check out in the office when they leave and check back in when they return.
Student Absence - Please contact the office if your child is absent. Students who are unexcused may be subject to disciplinary action. Attendance notifications go out via text or phone call each day.
