Sand Ridge "Shark Bites" Update
May 8, 2022 - Issue #31
Good Afternoon Shark Families and Happy Mother's Day,
We had a great start to our Apex event last week! The students are excited and energized and our Apex friends are fabulous! Our Fun Run is this Thursday. Students will be bringing home information about the day and what is needed or should be expected. Please keep those pledges and donations coming in. We are raising funds for new (additional) playground equipment. I am hopeful that by the end of the event, we will have a sizeable amount of money ready to purchase this much needed equipment!
Our Spring Book Fair is also here this week. Mrs. Meadows desperately needs volunteers to assist during the school days this week. If you are able to volunteer to assist with the Book Fair, PLEASE reach out to Ms. TIffany in the office ASAP, at 910-326-5199. She will be holding extended hours on Monday, May 9th, 5:00-7:00 for anyone wishing to shop. This is not a requirement and students will be able to shop throughout the week.
Mr. Henderson is also looking for volunteers to help proctor during EOG testing. That time is quickly approaching and we need several additional proctors each day. Please reach out to Mr. Henderson for information.
I am very excited to share that we will be inducting a new group of students into the Sand Ridge chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society this Tuesday evening. NEHS has been at Sand Ridge since 2015, however COVID caused a slight pause in our program. I am thrilled to be welcoming new fourth and fifth grade students into this academic/service based program.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make last week wonderful for our teachers and staff. Our staff felt the love and appreciation!
Have a wonderful week!
Denise Gartner, Principal
