JUAN DIEGO ACADEMY MARCH 2, 2016
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dear Parents,
Welcome to March, for this month we have fun and different activities. We have our Crab Feed/Auction on the 12th, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Spring is also approaching and the children will learn how to seed and grow a plant. For Easter we will make our own eggs for the egg hunt. Please start saving egg shells that we plan to dye in class and fill with paper confetti. They are called “Cascarones.” It is a Mexican Easter tradition that symbolizes the joy of the Resurrection. When the children break the egg it symbolizes the tomb where Christ was laid and the confetti is the joy that was felt when Jesus rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. When you cook with eggs, simply break the narrow end off (size of a quarter) and rinse out after pouring the egg out to cook. Place eggshells back in the egg carton to bring to school on Holy Week. Each child should have a dozen collected by then. See video link down below.
