Alternative Energy
Everyday the world produces Carbon Dioxide which is released into the atmosphere and stays there for hundreds of years. The increase of Carbon Dioxide increases the earth's warmth causing global warming. A way to solve this issue is by using alternative energy which performs the same or even better than other energy sources but does not release Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere. Alternative power sources are renewable and are considered to be "free" energy sources. These include Biomass Energy, Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Geothermal Energy, Hydroelectric Energy sources. According to AltEnergy.org - The use of clean alternative energies such as the home use of solar power systems will help ensure man's survival into the 21st century and beyond.
Solar Power
The sun has been burning for about 4 billion years. The sun supplies enough energy in one minute to supply the worlds energy needs for a year. However that would only be possible if the whole earth was one big solar panel. However If most people had solar panels they could individually make a difference, in fact, many people already do. Two of the biggest upsides is that its FREE and it does not produce harmful Carbon Dioxide. The biggest obstacles as to why not everyone is using solar power is the amount of sunlight and the cost of all the equipment.
Wind Power
Today people are realizing that wind power is one of the most promising forms of alternative energy. Germany, the US, Spain, Denmark, India and Australia are among the world's leading nations in producing wind energy. Wind power is now the world's fastest growing energy source and has also become one of the most rapidly expanding industries, with sales of roughly $3 billion per year. Wind power provides about %20 of the United States energy. Wind power is also providing many jobs for people all over the world.
