TUESDAY'S NEWSDAY 8
October 27, 2020 - Issue 8
From Principal Hammond
Dear RES Families,
We are in the midst of Spirit Week and are looking forward to this fun week together. We are also eager to "see" you for our virtual parent-teacher conferences from November 10th-13th. This will be a great opportunity to have a personalized conversation with your child's teacher about next steps in their learning.
Have a wonderful week and stay healthy! Thank you for continuing to work with your child at home on healthy habits as we enter cold season.
In partnership,
Natalie Hammond

Transition to Zoom
All ER9 staff and students will transition to the use of Zoom for student instruction through live stream sessions in early November.
If your student is using a personal device from home, the Zoom application will need to be downloaded to the device prior to use. We ask that you do this prior to November 4th.
If your student is using a school issued device and their ER9 account, the Zoom application was already pushed out to the device. We encourage all families to check to see if the application is accessible on devices over the next week.

Important Reminders
Arrival & Dismissal
Parents/Guardians who are dropping off students in the morning, or picking up students in the afternoon are asked to remain in their vehicles during this process. We will have staff on hand ready to support during these transition times. If you are dropping off your child in the morning please be sure their mask is on and backpack is ready BEFORE you pull up to the drop off location, so that we can quickly and safely transition kids out of vehicles and into the building.
RES Visitors
Due to the current health and safety precautions in place, we are limiting visitors in our building to essential business only. If you need to come to the school to pick up your child, please be sure you have a government issued ID on you for entry each and every time. Even if we recognize you, we will ask for your ID. This is our policy.
Traffic Safety
Please be reminded to follow all traffic rules while driving in our parking lots and around RES, including stopping at stop signs and adhering to the speed limit. Cars may not travel into the bus loop during arrival and dismissal.School Dismissal Manager
If there are changes to your child's dismissal plans, remember to log in to School Dismissal Manager to update with the new plans. A reminder that 'bus' is the default for all students. Distribution of a student pick up number tag, or the data from the summer survey does not automatically inform us that your child is a pick up.

Reminders From The Health Office
Continue to do your home screening every morning and keep your child home when indicated. If your child is kept home please make sure you are filling out School Dismissal Manager. Be as specific as you can (temperature, sore throat, headache, etc.) versus “sick” or “illness”. Be sure to make sure contact info is correct in Powerschool; if a student needs to be dismissed from the health office during the school day they should be picked up within 30 minutes.
The students have been doing an excellent job with their mask wearing and hand washing. Please continue to send at least one extra mask with your child every day in case their mask breaks or becomes soiled. Here are a couple of important reminders with regards to mask wearing.
- Wear your mask correctly: comfortably tight and no gaps between your face and the mask with nose and mouth covered.
- Your cloth mask should be washed everyday.
- Keep your mask clean: avoid touching the front of your mask and clean your hands before and after touching your mask.
See visuals below.
Thank you all for your continued support and hard work to keep our school community safe and healthy!
