A letter from Mr. Thomas
It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year. I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities while enjoying the wonderful sunshine. How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school. This is always one of my favorite times of the year! I love the excitement of beginning each new school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their great summer stories. I’m thrilled to be part of a team comprised of teachers, staff, parents and students who want to achieve great things! Our staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Vacaville High School is a successful and enjoyable one. I look forward seeing you all at Back To School Night on Thursday, August 29th at 6:00PM!

Dress Code
Apparel that disrupts or distracts from the learning environment is not permitted. The following guidelines might be helpful:
Apparel that depicts illegal substances, pornography, profanity, violence, illegal behavior, or which is demeaning to any race, gender or creed is forbidden.
No revealing apparel is permitted. Undergarments must be covered (including bralettes) and not visible. Attire that is “see-through”, strapless or backless may not be worn to school. Bare midriff should not be exposed (no-crop tops or tube tops allowed). Skirts and shorts must be long enough to ensure modesty. Spanks are not appropriate school attire, including at dances.
Chains hanging from pockets, belt loops or the waist are not permitted.
Gang related apparel is forbidden including gang colors (for students identified as associating with gang members).
No pajamas (except on school-approved dress-up days).
No sagging.
Teachers may require students to remove hats, hoods or sunglasses in the classroom.
Parent Portal
On Friday, August 9th, around 5:30 PM an email was sent with your individual student's Permanent ID# and Verification Code. Please use this information to register for Parent Portal. You may be able to view your student's schedule, due to class balancing changes may occur. Your student will receive their final schedule during homeroom on Thursday. If you have already registered for Parent Portal last school year, you do not need to re-register. You will be able to just log in. If you forgot your password, please click on forgot password and go from there.
Here’s what you need to know to get a parent portal account set up:
- Your home telephone number as registered with your child’s school. It is not included in the email sent as a security measure. Note: This is not necessarily your current cell number.
- Your child’s permanent ID number: (9 digit number)
- Your child’s verification code

Senior Parent Info Night
Who: Senior Students and their Parents/Guardians
When: Mon. Aug. 19th
Time: 6:00 PM
Where: VHS Gym
You are invited to come find out important information to help plan for senior year. College planning, upcoming events, deadlines and expenses will be discussed. Parents are able to sign the off campus lunch form at this meeting. All off campus lunch passes must be signed in person, by the parent/guardian.
