Newsletter Week 10 -Term 2 2021
St Joseph's Catholic School Morrinsville 6 July 2021
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora Koutou,
Wow we are at week 10. What an exciting term it has been! We have had discos, student led conferences, quizzes, sports days and winter sports, epro8 challenges, Spirit hour, masses and lots of other cool learning mixed into our day to day routine. A special thank you to our students, staff and school families for all of your awesome support this term.
We welcome Maria Cullen and her family to our school. Maria has joined Room 3 and has moved to NZ from the Phillipines. I know you will make her feel so welcome!
Next term we welcome Kirstin Marsh to our staff. Kirstin will be joining the Akonga Hub team teaching, alongside Courtney Thomson, Simone Campbell and Maree Nicholson. When you see Kirstin around our school, please say a big hello!
In week 2 of next term, the teachers will send out a mid term update for each child. We know that you received curriculum information at the Student Led Conference earlier this term. The mid term update will give you some information around student progress with key competencies and a general comment for learning.
It is with sadness that we express our deepest sympathies to the Pizzini and Bankier families. Chantelle Pizzini, a much loved mother, daughter and sister, was a past student of our school and we were saddened to hear of her unexpected passing. We pray that God, who gives love and peace, will be with you all.
Have a lovely, safe and relaxing holiday. Take care of one another and we will see you back at school on Monday 26 July 2021.
God Bless you
Andrea Colebourn, Principal

Calling All Knitters...
Calling All Caregivers, Nana's & Grandads...
Knitters Required Please
We have the wool and the patterns if you have the time.
The Catholic Women's League Knitting Group is starting up again and they need helpers to knit beanies and slippers for our school students. If you are able to do some basic knitting (or fancy if you like) using lovely New Zealand wool, they would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Please contact Patricia Pellow on 889 6871.
We can't wait to see these creations.
