Booth Hill Elementary School
A 2022 National Blue Ribbon School
Dear Booth Hill Families,
After some up and down weather, this was a quintessential New England long weekend. We had a busy week at 545 Booth Hill Road. Picture Day was September 21 and our Bobcats looked fantastic. Many thanks to Robert Taylor, our staff, and our parent volunteers, to make sure this day went as smooth as possible. Our students will start up with band and strings lessons this week. Mr. Turchek and Mrs. Federov will be busy organizing classes for our burgeoning musicians. Mr. Prieto will be starting with our fifth grade chorus in another two weeks. Our music program continues to be a highlight for our students. When I returned last year, Mr. Prieto had our fifth grade students playing ukulele with passion and skill. With a lot of students playing ukuleles, we added a few parlor guitars for students to try out and take home. We have two right now, and we already have one guitar home with a student. Every year we try to build on students' interests. With ukulele playing at an all-time high, it will be an easy and natural transition for our Bobcats to start strumming guitars. Pictured below is Georgia trying out a Fender Squire.
