New Staff Spotlight...
Hello! My name is Christy Haag, and I am thrilled to have joined Peak View this year as
a Reading Specialist. This is my 24th year as a teacher in Rockingham County, with the
majority of my experience being in third grade. My husband and I have two sons, and we live in Mt. Crawford. I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with family.
I am truly excited to be part of the Peak View Family!
General Announcements:
Harvest Fest - Thanks To All:
Thanks to all who supported Harvest Fest with your time, energy, donations and leadership.
It took many parent volunteers, PTO officers, Watch Dog Dads and PKVES Staff support, but it was a Fun-Filled Evening for all that attended. Truly a wonderful community event.
Veteran's Assembly...
Peak View will honor our school and community US veterans with an assembly, followed by lunch on Friday, November 8, beginning at 10 am. We cordially invite all Peak View immediate and extended family of students and staff who have served. Please be on the look-out for STARS to honor veterans and a sign-up sheet for lunch guests coming in the next few weeks. If you would like an invitation to ask a US veteran to come to our November 8 PKVES Veterans' Assembly and lunch (free to veterans), please write a note or email Mrs. Mary Harter, mharter@rockingham.k12.va.us .
Also, we are holding a Veterans' essay contest for all interested students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Essay Information is available in the front hallway or see Mrs. Harter. All entries due to Mrs. Harter Friday, November 1. Winners chosen will be given the opportunity to read their essays at the November 8 assembly.
Toys For The Holidays..
This year PKVES is having a toy drive and asking families to donate NEW, UNWRAPPED toys for elementary age students. The toys will be distributed to families in our school community first and the remaining items will be donated to the Salvation Army. The drive will run from 10/28-11/15. We need toys for the following age/grade level:
Kindergarten/1st Grade - 4-6 years old
2nd Grade/3rd Grade - 7-8 years old
4th Grade/5th Grade - 9-10 years old
If you would like more information about the Toy Drive contact the school counselor, Ry Wilson at 540-289-7510.
