LAST WEEK'S ADVENTURES
We had so much fun reading the book Ten Things, it was all about Earth-friendly things we can do to help our planet, including recycling. After reading the book we all had fun building our very own magnetic recycled robots!
During a very special Large Group activity, we all had the chance to practice different ways our bodies could try and keep balloons afloat. We practiced using our heads, feet, knees, and hands! The children loved this activity and were very enthusiastic to practice.
Scavenger Hunt Nature Walk
This week we had an opportunity to take our lesson outside with a scavenger hunt nature walk. We looked around the outside of our school and playground for things to check off our lists. There were plenty of birds, leaves, trees, flowers, and spiders webs.
Night & Day
After reading the book, Day & Night, the children drew daily activities and sorted them based on if they happen during daytime or nighttime. Their drawings were creative and they enjoyed this activity. Many students used this opportunity to add words to their drawings to label the actions in their illustration!
As a two-part lesson, children colored and decorated their pots for their plants. Then they shoveled dirt into their pots and planted their choice of seeds. They really seemed to "dig" this activity.
We really enjoyed making our pipe cleaner bird feeders. We all made different patterns out of our colorful cereal. We then strung it on a pipe cleaner and hung it outside in a tree for the birds to eat.
