Finishing Strong

May 3rd - 7th "Together We Are Better"

MP4 Finishing Stronger than Ever

Eastlake Learning Community,

Time is of the essence. As we continue to build our master schedule for the 2021-2022 school year, online registration must be completed as soon as possible. Our counselors have submitted course requests for next year. However, numbers of course requests do not align with student enrollment unless your child is registered. Therefore, please be sure to complete the online registration process in order for our scholars to receive elective sections requested and we have balanced classrooms before the school year begins. In other words, there is a direct correlation with registration and student schedules.

I am super excited about all the accolades our Falcon scholars continue to receive in academics, athletics, fine arts and within the community. With this said, it is an honor to announce, at our graduation ceremony, the amount of scholarships our Falcons have earned. Please be sure to submit to Ms. Maria Angeles (mangel@sisd.net), or your counselor, the amount earned in scholarships for everyone to recognize their hard work, and for our younger Falcons to know anything is possible if you apply and work toward the goal.

Our 2021 graduation ceremony is set for Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 8:00 pm on Socorro ISD Athletic Complex field. Each graduate will be allowed 4 guests to attend this extremely special ceremony as we come back from a very exhausting COVID-19 school year.

This week is teacher appreciation week. Our instructional leaders are key constituents to the success of our scholars. Please reach out to a special teacher and let them know how much we appreciate them. They have also had to endure the many challenges COVID has put on all of us. We must continue to support one another in order to for all our children to come back to a social environment which prepares everyone for post secondary readiness.

In closing, this Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm students 16 years or older can now receive their first COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccines will be distributed by immunize El Paso in our Theatre foyer. This is an excellent opportunity for young adults to be proactive in keeping the spread of COVID-19 at a minimum. Please be sure to read more within the smore and register as soon as possible at the following link: https://go.izep.org/covid19. Our campus goal is to administer over 200 vaccinations this Thursday.

Feel free to send us an email or phone call if you should have any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,

Gilbert R. Martinez

Proud Principal for Eastlake HS
